MERRY {almost} CHRISTMAS!

We chopped our tree down last weekend at Stoney Ridge Farms, just outside of Lynden-proper.
We got there right at 9am to avoid the mad crush of fellow tree hunters we experienced the year before.
It worked.  We were the only visitors there. It was us and the wilds of a perfectly manicured tree farm. I guess most families don't wait until the week before Christmas to get a tree.  Ha!  All I gotta say is that all the pine needles are still on our tree.  WIN!

The next step was getting Aurora's photo for the annual Christmas card.  It went great!  As long as she was holding Loren's calculator the mood stayed calm.  The moment I tried to take it away, or exchange it for a pretty Christmas ornament, book, ANYTHING, she had a meltdown.  Loren thought it was great. Proof of a budding scientist, right? :)

May your family know the JOY of Christmas and Calculation
I hope you each have a blessed Christmas!

Silent night! Holy night!
All is calm all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace!
Sleep in heavenly peace!
Silent night! Holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Hallelujah
Christ the Saviour is born!
Christ the Saviour is born!
Silent night! Holy night!
Son of God love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.
